Can’t I just get a whitening treatment from the supermarket?

Because over-the-counter whitening products are mass-produced and not prescribed for your individual teeth, the colour result you achieve could be nothing like you wanted or expected. There’s a chance the solution could cause discomfort or tooth sensitivity as well. If you use strips, there’s a chance the product won’t reach certain areas of your teeth, especially if your teeth are slightly crooked – this means that the colour would be uneven. Result time can vary, but it’s usually a long wait; it can take one to two weeks before you see any discernible results. Keep in mind that over-the-counter whitening products are not classified as cosmetic products, and therefore aren’t subject to any kind of industry regulation.
