Problems We Solve
Bleeding gums are a sure sign of inflammation of the gums indicating that you are suffering from gingivitis/periodontitis. When was your last professional clean? As well as someone cleans at home they still need regular cleans by a dental professional. If your gums bleed it would be wise to give us a call at the CDG to diagnose and treat your condition.
With inadequate cleaning the bacteria in the periodontal (gum) pocket fester and produce a foul smell. A professional dental clean is often all that is needed to make your breath feel and smell fresh again.
Teeth pick up stain from foods with colour (red wine, tea etc) which enter porosities within the tooth enamel. Cumulative with years. Whitening can make you look and feel younger.
Zoom in chair-90 mins or take-home whitening kits. Government regulations do not allow non-dentists to use high peroxide concentrations because they can cause damage to teeth, gums, lips, etc when used incorrectly. Low dose treatments therefore are not able to create the same results as we can achieve at the CDG.
Veneers or crowns can be an option.
Dental Implants can be-used as an anchor to support a crown (single tooth), bridge (multiple teeth), or full arch bridge (whole arch of teeth). A CT scan is required in order to treatment plan each case.
Sometimes the process can be completed within a day, other times the treatment may be delivered over a span of a few months. A Dental Bridge uses the teeth either side of the gap to support the missing teeth - this doesn’t involve surgery and is completed within 2-3 weeks.
A denture is the most affordable tooth replacement option. It is removable for cleaning and sleeping. Depending on the type of denture it can be constructed within 1 week.
When a dental implant is placed into bone the body recognises its titanium surface as bone. Just like when 2 pieces of broken bone are held together they heal by growing bone in between them. The bone then matures and the implant is securely “osseo-intergrated”. It can then be used to as an anchor for a crown or bridge of teeth.
Some patients can not tolerate wearing dentures. They feel foreign, they hurt, they rub, and some people just cant eat with them. At the CDG we have options that may change your life.
Read about All-On-4 or implant retained dentures.
Grinding or teeth clenching is called bruxism. It can lead to TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorders). Patients can present with all sorts of symptoms including headaches, sore jaw, neck tension, sensitive teeth etc.
At the CDG we can diagnose your problem and construct a night splint as well as give you excercises to loosen up your tight muscles as well as “deprogram” your subconscious brain from performing this destructive behaviour. We also work with Allied Health Professionals including specialised osteopath, physiotherapist and acupuncturist practitioners because an interdisciplinary approach is required to treat this complex problem.
We are used to dealing with all sorts of people with all sorts of problems. We can help everyone at the CDG. You will be made to feel safe and secure and comfortable. You will be listened to, examined, and then a treatment plan formulated. Treatment can then be performed under local anaesthetic, oral sedation, IV sedation, General Anaesthetic.
We are able to treat crooked teeth or gaps between the teeth using different treatments which are tailor-made to your individual needs and concerns. Options include:
- Orthodontics
- Braces or
- Clear aligners (Invisalign)
Yes we can fix cracked teeth by putting crowns on the teeth. This process can take 2-3 weeks depending on the treatment required to restore the tooth.
Because there is not enough room for them to erupt into an ideal position at the back of your mouth. This can lead to crowding of the front teeth, infections of the gum above the wisdom tooth or an ache within the jaw.
We can remove your wisdom teeth during an in chair procedure or under general anaesthetic at Carnegie Dental Group. No need to enter the hospital system, at the CDG we can remove your wisdom teeth as a day procedure whilst you are asleep.
